VALKYRIE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Welcome to Valkyrie International Film Festival (VIFF): 

a Buffalo-based celebration of films directed by women of all backgrounds. 

We're excited to announce that VIFF 2026 will be held at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, 341 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY 14202 ! Our original venue, The Screening Room Cnema & Arts Cafe, was sadly forced to close . Hallwalls is a Buffalo Institution, highly respected in the arts community,  in a neighborhood filled with restaurants, cafes and bars. The screening room seats up to 80 people and is located below the art gallery in a former church now owed by recoring artist Ani DeFranco.  We believe Hallwalls' mission statement closely overlaps our own.

Because of the change in venue, we've also had to change our festival dates from May 29th - June 2nd to: Friday, August 7th - Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

This will be the first time we've held VIFF in the summer, and in the city itself, which will allow visiting filmmakers and patrons to really explore everything the city offers and to visit Niagara Falls in warm weather! Because of the change in dates, we've extended our final submissions deadline to June 6th.
